Summary
This pilot study will collect first-hand data on antibiotic use in cattle farming and the prevalence of antibiotic resistance in animal food (ASF), humans and the environment in South Kivu province in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). The data collected will serve as a valuable basis for the design of a future intervention study; its funding by the German Alliance for Global Health Research (GLOHRA) is being sought.
