Technology Assessment
Our research focuses on the evaluation of bioeconomic production systems for the integrated provision of food, bioenergy and biomaterials. The aim is to identify site-specific technologies and management strategies for sustainable intensification. For this purpose, conflicting goals have to be identified and analysed, alternatives have to be shown and decision bases have to be provided.
Our work focuses on the evaluation of environmental impacts and socio-economic assessments. We apply a wide range of methods for this purpose. We base the modelling and simulation of process chains, operations and production systems on our in-depth knowledge of production systems, our methodological expertise and the targeted provision of data that we measure and collect ourselves or in cooperation with other ATB departments and external partners.
This enables us to evaluate technology and processes in superordinate system contexts.
