Summary
AquaTech4Feed aims to formulate novel fish feeds from alternative protein-containing biomass sources such as algae, duckweed, insects and microbiomes (bioflakes) in order to improve fish production and product quality. Partners in AquaTech4Feed are developing a novel sustainable aquaculture production process based on the production of protein-rich feed using waste water and waste products from aquaculture. The ATB is particularly investigating production systems for providing alternative protein resources based on macroalgae and insects as well as the processing and formulation of novel feeds. Furthermore, the ATB coordinates the dissemination of results and transfer into practice and promotes the use of the newly developed feed products (outreach).
