In poultry and pig farming, in particular, stressful conditions caused by dust and noxious gas concentration and by noise loads can be observed in the animal houses. The health hazards in animals and humans are undisputed. The aim of the project is the development and integration of technical greening systems in livestock farms in order to reduce dust and pollutant gas concentrations on the one hand and, on the other hand, to improve the air as a whole. In addition, these technical greening systems can positively affect the noise situation in the animal housings. The selection of suitable plants and the development of technical greening systems are necessary, to achieve measurable improvements can be achieved. They must meet numerous requirements: e.g. simple assembly, automatic irrigation and low-cost cleaning and disinfection, cost-effective in purchase and installation. The EIP project aims to achieve an improvement in the quality of work and increased well-being for humans and animals.
