The 12th Potsdamer Tag der Wissenschaften (Potsdam Science Day) attracted numerous visitors to the Potsdam Science Park in Golm. The popular event broke all records: 40 institutions presented the diversity of research and science in Brandenburg in over 200 hands-on activities. ATB provided insights into its research work on the topic of sun protection in fruit cultivation.
Under the motto "How 3D temperature maps help predict heat damage to fruit", interested visitors to Research Camp C were able to discover live how we use satellite weather data and 3D temperature maps to precisely predict when and where apples and cherries are at risk of becoming too hot. A thermal imaging camera provided interesting insights and visualised the heat radiation of the guests in live images.
Numerous visitors took the opportunity to talk to us and find out more about how our work is helping to make fruit growing future-proof. Thank you very much for the great interest and the many exciting discussions.
The 12th Potsdam Science Day once again offered the opportunity to experience science up close and enter into dialogue with researchers. Anyone who missed us at the Potsdam Science Day will soon have another chance to engage in dialogue with us: We will also be presenting our topic at the 25th Long Night of Sciences in Berlin on 28 June 2025. We cordially invite you to the centre of Berlin to discover our research and that of our partners in the Leibniz Research Network "Green Nutrition - Healthy Society" at the Haus der Leibniz Gemeinschaft.
