China has considerable potential to exploit farm manure through biogas fermentation and to reduce negative environmental impacts. In the DBFZ-CHINA project, livestock housing and manure removal In dairy cattle as well as the assessment with regard to the possible contribution to the reduction of emissions in conjunction with biogas technology will be analyzed. For biogas plant operators, an overview of the state of biogas technology in the use of agricultural residues will be given and a decision matrix will be drawn up to support them in their selection of the technology depending on the species, the housing system and the broad or narrow spectrum of residuals at the site.
