Summary
In the project HyAlt4Chem, processes for the utilization of recycled and old wood for basic chemicals after appropriate pre-treatment are developed and optimized. At ATB, the fermentability of different feedstock streams, which can differ greatly depending on the composition and type of wood, will be investigated in the case of lactic acid. The project thus contributes to the implementation of the strategic national "roadmap biorefineries", in particular regarding the focus "exploitation and high-quality utilization of new or alternative, sustainable sources of raw materials, including the use of biogenic residues and waste in a biorefinery".
