Summary
In phase 1 of the ZIM innovation network, the following topic-independent goals are primarily planned: (1) setting up and establishing the consortium, (2) creating a network identity, (3) developing generalizable project ideas and implementing these ideas in R&D project proposals, and (4) developing the technological roadmap from the project ideas as a result of the phase. Thematic objectives are (1) developments for the sustainable production of food and feed on bio-based textile growth media under industry-related conditions, (2) development of space-saving concepts, (3) implementation of urban, indoor, and vertical farming technologies based on plant carriers in the terrestrial sector (salads, herbs, vegetables) and in aquaculture for algae and mussels based on an ecological circular economy, and (4) Development of utilization concepts for regional raw materials, such as hemp, flax, straw, hay, wood wool, sheeps wool, or for biopolymers (e.g., PLA, PBS, Lyocell)
