Seeds carry more than just genetic information – they carry entire microbial worlds that shape the future of plants. At SeedCon 2026, we bring together leading scientists, young researchers, and industry representatives to explore this hidden frontier. The new conference will take place on 5–7 May 2026 at Leibniz Institute for Agricultural Engineering and Bioeconomy (ATB) in Potsdam, Germany, providing an inspiring setting for exchange and collaboration.
SeedCon 2026 is the First International Conference on the Seed Microbiome and Microbial Inheritance. The scientific program covers cutting-edge topics from origins of seed microbiome to seed microbiome assembly and dynamics, endophyte function and plant health, agricultural applications and the bioeconomy, and methodological advances. Together, these sessions will highlight how seed-associated microbes influence plant evolution, breeding, stress tolerance, and sustainable agriculture.
A major highlight will be the keynote lectures by internationally renowned experts like Ashley Shade, Gabriele Berg, Seth Bordenstein and many more. They are redefining our understanding of seed microbiomes – from their inheritance across plant generations to their role in boosting crop performance. Their contributions ensure the highest scientific excellence and set the agenda for future research in this emerging field.
Registration is now open, and we warmly invite you to submit your abstracts to showcase your work and join this vibrant exchange of ideas. This is your opportunity to present your research, network with global leaders, and shape the future of seed microbiome science.
