The scientific conference ‘Towards New Food Systems – Rethinking Food and Nutrition Systems’ is organised by Innovationsraum NewFoodSystems and aims to bring together interested parties and stakeholders from various scientific disciplines, industry and politics to discuss the future of our food and nutrition systems.
Global challenges require interdisciplinary approaches in order to shape the necessary transformation of nutrition and food systems in a sustainable manner. The conference therefore offers a unique platform that enables nutrition and food systems to be viewed and analysed from a variety of professional perspectives. Various formats will be used to present topics such as sustainable nutrition, land-based and non-land-based food production, and new sources of raw materials for food and feed, and to discuss their contribution to sustainable development. With a focus on transformation, potential obstacles and necessary framework conditions for innovation will be debated from political, legal, entrepreneurial, scientific and social perspectives.
Experience the latest in research and development on site and take advantage of this special opportunity to present your own results, network and work together on pioneering ideas and solutions.
The ATB will of course also be represented. Dr Oliver Schlüter will give the keynote speech ‘Aspects of the circular bioeconomy in food production: new conversion concepts and selected examples’ and will introduce the sub-topic of insects in the second specialist lecture session on 29 October 2025 at 2:40 p.m. Dr Sophia Lüttrighaus will also give a presentation entitled ‘Innovation ecosystems and leverage points in the transformation of food systems: insights from Berlin-Brandenburg’, while Dr Giacomo Rossi will enrich the conference with his specialist presentation ‘Side-stream valorisation for black soldier fly larvae production: impact on rearing performance and microbiological safety’ in the second specialist presentation session on 29 October 2025.
