Summary
In light of the dependence on fossil resources and the growing awareness of environmental issues associated with the use of petro-based products, materials that are both ecologically and economically sustainable in their production and reuse are becoming increasingly important. Such sustainable materials are primarily based on a true circular economy (recycling), originate from biomass (preferably from residual materials), or are derived from atmospheric CO2 or CO2 captured from industrial emissions.
Based on this foundation, the Innovative Network for Sustainable Materials aims to develop market-ready and environmentally friendly products.
