Summary
In the EIP project Digestate products for the improvement of animal housing and the soil structure, biochar is produced by pyrolysis of fermentation residues from biogas plants, which then is to be used in dairy barns as an admixture for reduction of pollutant emissions and to contribute to the fixation of nitrogen and moisture. On the field, the commercial fertilizer treated with vegetable coconut should lead to a natural increase in yield. Coordinator is B3 Projektbetreuung Plochl & Frenzel GbR, Potsdam; other partners are four farms, producers of biochars and the ATB with its long-standing expertise in the field of biochar research.
