Summary
A number of large companies are currently developing prototypes for the utilisation of biomass, including as paper and packaging or building and insulation materials. If rapid further development into products is emerging, strong demand for Paludibiomasse can arise at short notice. However, there is currently a lack of concrete potential analyses of the availability of Paludibiomasse in terms of quantities and provisioning procedures, including storage and preservation. Such an analysis is to be carried out as part of the MoorMass project.
In the project, interviews will be conducted with biomass-producing agricultural businesses and combined with maps. The resulting information will be used for a potential analysis to estimate how the biomass from selected moor-rich regions in Brandenburg can be provided, stored and preserved by the local agricultural businesses.
The results show how much Paludibiomasse can be provided regionally in the short term and what action is needed to establish reliable supply chains for large quantities of biomass.
