The international dialogue on shaping a sustainable future is entering its next phase: on 20 and 21 October 2026, Dublin will host the fifth Global Bioeconomy Summit (GBS 2026) – one of the world’s most significant conferences on the bioeconomy, climate action and bio-based innovation. Under the theme ‘Bioeconomy for Socio-Economic Transformation and Climate Action’, the event will bring together leading scientists, policy-makers, businesses and stakeholders from industry and society to jointly develop solutions to global challenges.
At the modern Convention Centre Dublin, participants can look forward to a high-calibre programme featuring international keynote speeches, expert panels, workshops and interdisciplinary discussion formats. The focus will be on the latest developments in sustainable agriculture, the circular economy, industrial biotechnology and resource efficiency, as well as innovative approaches to tackling climate change. In addition, the summit offers a wide range of opportunities for international networking and for dialogue between the worlds of research, politics and practice.
The Global Bioeconomy Summit serves as an international platform for cooperation, innovation and the shaping of sustainable prospects for the future. The event provides a forum for dialogue between the worlds of science, business, politics and society, and offers valuable impetus for the further development of bioeconomic approaches and the global transfer of knowledge.
