The EU project Soil-X-Change has developed a user-friendly and interactive dashboard that provides information and knowledge about sustainable soil and farm management practices as a visual communication tool to disseminate research findings. Its purpose is to make complex information easy to understand and allow for exploration. The dashboard is publicly accessible through the project website (Dashboard menu), which directly links to the dashboard interface. No registration or login needed.
The Soil-X-Change dashboard presents documented best practices collected mainly from Operational Groups of the EIP-AGRI (European Innovation Partnership for Agricultural Productivity and Sustainability) funding program ,but also from related initiatives, and published research findings from partner projects. Examples are living mulch in a no tillage system, technology for gully restoration or precision liming. Their effects on soil, crop, environmental and economic parameters were extracted and reaggregated. Through simple filters and visual tools, users can discover tested solutions, compare their impacts, and—eventually— receive decision support for implementing practices that best fit their conditions. Detailed factsheets are available for further reading. In summary you can explore the practices via:
The selection of practices according to their category, site characteristics and crop type
The visualization of studied impacts for one or several practices
The comparison chart to compare effects between selected practices
Detailed factsheets for further reading
Under development A decision tree showcasing more research findings on selected soil, crop, or environmental properties
We welcome and highly appreciate user feedback to provide the best experience for future users. Please help to optimize the dashboard by using the feedback form on the left of the dashboard. Many thanks.
