Workshop
„Phosphorus for agriculture – Strategies for a finite resource“

Phosphorus is an essential nutrient for plants, animals and humans. The global stocks of the resource are limited and restricted to a few regions of the world.

In this sense, it is of great interest to increase efficiency of application and close phosphorus cycles at regional level.

How can we identify existing, previously unused phosphorus resources?

What potential for P-recovery offer sewage and waste streams?

How can they be utilized for agriculture?

The workshop will be conducted within the framework of the joint project ELaN (www.elan-bb.de) funded by BMBF and is aimed at participants from academia, business, government and the public.

The aim of the workshop is to
• introduce and discuss different approaches to P-recovery from the perspective of research and application,
•  to explore the perspectives of P-recovery in terms of scientific and economic approaches, and
• to deepen existing and stimulate new cooperation.
• Contributions will be published in our series "Bornimer Reports on Agricultural Engineering".
