Again this year, we are inviting 10 pupils from classes 7 to 9 to the "Zukunftsag Brandenburg" – an initiative forming part of the nationwide Girls’ Day and Boys’ Day campaigns – to gain an insight into the career opportunities available at a research institute.
What qualifications do I need to become a scientist? What is ‘everyday life’ like at a research institute?
Scientists and technical staff will provide an insight into their working environments and answer questions about scientific research.
Of course, the event also offers the chance to try out scientific work for yourself in various research settings.
We’ll be exploring the following topics:
- Wetlands and potting soil: How are they connected, and what does this have to do with our climate?
- Germs in the barn? We’ll find out!
- How do you study ventilation in livestock buildings, and why is the barn climate important for animals and the environment?
Duration: 09:00 – 13:30
Places available: 10 in total
Year group: Years 7–9
Meeting point: ATB, Main Building (CIRCLE)
