On the topic of ‘From peat to village’, the team from the research project ‘Preserving Brandenburg's Luch areas in a climate-friendly way – Initiating peatland conservation and management’ (BLuMo) developed a digital scavenger hunt with exciting content about the peatlands. The aim is to impart knowledge in a playful way via an app using tricky questions, exciting audio content and interesting films.
Since 1 June, the ‘Actionbound’ app has been inviting interested parties to take part in a four-kilometre-long digital scavenger hunt. It takes you on a circular route from the Storchenschmiede in Linum to the Rhinluch and covers 13 topics and locations. It covers the history of the village and the Rhinluch, peatlands and water, cranes and toads, peat extraction and agriculture with water buffaloes.
The digital scavenger hunt is open to everyone from Year 5 onwards. It takes about 60–90 minutes. The tour can be downloaded to a smartphone or tablet via the Actionbound app and is free of charge:
The digital scavenger hunt is a joint project of Storchenschmiede Linum, the Ostprignitz-Ruppin District Women's Association, the Oberes Rhinluch Landscape Conservation Association, the BLuMo moorland pilot project and other stakeholders from the region.
