Summary
In MeMa a teat cup is developed based on the methodology developed in MeMo with a function to separate the milking and holding function. For functional development of the teat cup, the holding function of the phenomenological model in a numerical simulation is transferred. This allows you to test different settings of the parameters and size of the components used. In addition, an auto-adaptive control for different teat shapes is developed. The control unit features a module for the evaluation of the integrated sensors, which is the basis of self-regulatory control in the project. After a final laboratory test, an on farm experiment must be carried out over several weeks in the individual quarter milking system for testing the functionality of the MeMa-teat-cup. These tests provide valuable information about how to change color teat, ring formation, somatic cell count (SCC) and milking speed of the animals in the continuous operation of the teat cup and be compared with the data of a conventional teat-cup. The objective of the MeMa development is to decrease the use of medication during milking and to reduce the working hours for milking.
