Digitisation takes an evermore important role in different areas and disciplines. It transforms the current agricultural economy and science and thus simultaneously changes the very concept of agroecology itself. In order to shed further light on this ongoing process of digitalisation and its ramifications, the newly founded international conference “DigAgro 2025” joins the company of already existing conferences and will have its debut this December in the Austrian town of Tulln an der Donau. The FAIRagro consortium – of which ATB is a part of – will be joining the conference with its own workshop.
“DigAgro 2025” has been founded at the initiative of scientific actors from both Germany and Austria. It will, however, take on a more international character in order to reach out to reach international audiences and circles. Fittingly, the “FAIRagro” will partake in this conference, a scientific consortium in which ATB participates as one of several agroscientific institutions. “FAIRagro” was founded back in 2021 with the goal of enhancing accessibility to scientific data via the establishing of digital infrastructures. This, in turn, is supposed to allow for an easier filtering of data, such as research results, comparing data and much more. Find out more on the website of FAIRagro.
A variety of sub-topics surrounding the general topic of "Digitilisation in agroecology and crop production" are going to be highlighted at the conference, among them:
- Technology for smart farming
- Digital tools for plant phenotyping
- Digital innovations in agroecology
Multi-omics integration, modelling, and prediction for microbiome research
Contributions made by several keynote speakers will be part of the programme, among them:
- Prof. Ing. Mag. Mag. Dr. Andreas Holzinger (BOKU University)
Dr. Georgios Tsagdis (Leiden University)
