Summary
The present project focuses on the production of high-quality, fresh horticultural products and at the same time meets the demand for an efficient use of scarce fresh water resources. The project goal is to develop an innovative method for the hygienisation of the process water for ready-to-use salads, which allows the recycling of the treated, microbiologically and food unobjectionable water in the washing process in order to increase the microbiological safety in the process and significantly reduce fresh water consumption.
