Research programs
Our research work is organized in three programs.
The programs address global challenges. The objectives are
- to produce agricultural biomass with limited resources in a sustainable manner in order to be able to supply a growing population with adequate quantities facing rising living standards
(Research program 'Precision agriculture in crop production and animal husbandry'), - to provide safe and high-quality food through efficient processes along the value chains
(Research Program 'Quality and Safety of Food and Feed'), - to develop biomaterials and sustainable bioenergy sources for a bio-based circular economy
(Research program 'Material and energetic use of biomass').
Within the research programs, international teams of scientists from various disciplines work together to solve the specific research tasks.
The program is dedicated to site-adapted, sustainable intensification in the area of primary agricultural production up to and including product harvesting.
to the programResearch covers the entire spectrum between primary production and consumption of fresh or minimally processed plant and animal products, including fruit, vegetables, cereals, milk, meat and insects.
to the programThe aim is to develop efficient technology and processes for the provision of biogenic recyclable materials and energy sources from agriculture for a sustainable, biobased recycling economy.
