ATB can use more than 40 ha arable land for its research.
Research site Marquardt
Since July 1, 2015, ATB has a modern research station that offers on more than 20 ha arable land extensive options to answer scientific questions in the field of resource conservation, sustainability and environmental protection.
The research site is located in Marquardt, approx. 6.5 km northwest of the institute. It stretches along the Wublitz, a tributary of the river Havel, from Marquardt up to the national road B273 (see map).
Address: Hauptstr. 36b, 14476 Potsdam - OT Marquardt
A stone fruit orchard near Potsdam serves as a model for sensor-based precision horticulture in the ongoing experiment TechnologyGarden. Tree-specific information will contribute to carry out demand-oriented measures for quality fruit production and to determine accurately the appropriate harvest date. For producers, service providers and others the TechnologyGarden offers information on the latest methods for the management of intensively managed perennial crops.

Experimental site for renewables
An experimental site in close neighbourhood to the institute is used since 1994 for research on short rotation coppice (poplar and willow, since 2010 robinia).
In the focus of our research are energy efficiency, environmental compatibility, and economic optimality of processes for managing renewable resources.
