Christian Hertwig received the Best Poster Award for the best scientific contribution entitled “Inactivation mechanisms of Bacillus subtilis spore in aqueous solution related to remote plasma treatment” in the session “Emerging technologies and novel processes”. The award is to foster excellent scientific work as a means of disseminating research results pertinent to the field of Food Engineering.

Furthermore Christian Hertwig received also the ICEF12 – Seligman APV Travel Grant sponsored by the SCI Seligman APV Trust. This grant is designed to support the development of PhD students or young scientists’ careers by helping them to present their cutting-edge knowledge at international conferences or laboratory visits.

The ICEF is a major conference for food scientist and engineers and is held only every 4 years.
