News6th International Conference on Machine Control and Guidance
Oct 4, 2018: On October 1 and 2, the 6th International Conference on Machine Control and Guidance (MCG2018) took place in Berlin. About 50 experts from research and industry exchanged views on the latest findings and developments in the field of management and control technology for agricultural machinery. Increasing production in agricultural areas with less labour and material is the greatest challenge for future agriculture, stated Prof. Dr. Noack from Weihenstephan-Triesdorf University of Applied Sciences in his keynote speech at the beginning of the conference on 1 October. Researchers and engineers worldwide are addressing the question of how agricultural machines can become more precise, efficient and independent by means of sensor technology, software, modeling and data acquisition. In four sessions, the experts presented concrete research approaches and results: - Automation and Assistance Systems In addition, overarching issues of functional safety of control software and the challenges that need to be overcome in order to put new technologies into practice were discussed intensively. The MCG2018 was organized by Technische Universität Berlin (Institut für Maschinenkonstruktion und Systemtechnik) and the Leibniz Institute for Agricultural Engineering and Bioeconomy (ATB).
