The ATB has more than 250 employees - in research, in the technical field and in administration. The institute offers an attractive work environment, which refers to the reconciliation of career and family as well as equal opportunities for women and men.
Scientists from various disciplines are supported by technical staff. The multidisciplinary research teams are composed by experienced scientists working with doctoral students and postdocs.
The ATB is also involved in job training and provides apprenticeships for technical and administrative professions.
We support our employees in reconciling career and family responsibilities. Various offers and individual arrangements offered by the ATB in particular for colleagues with young children and family members in need for care contribute to balance family and career duties.
Family-friendly measures include:
For its family friendly environment, the ATB 2010 was awarded with the certificate auditberufundfamilie and successfully reaudited in 2013.
At present, half of all ATB employees are women: technical staff in laboratories, secretaries and administration, as well as scientists from diverse disciplines, from the PhD student to the board member.
The "Agreement on the promotion of equal opportunities at the ATB" sets the legal and organizational framework. Concrete objectives and actions are updated in equality plans.
The Equality Concept 2016-2019 (in German) implements the "Research-Oriented Standards on Gender Equality of the DFG and the Leibniz Association" and the promotion of women in science and research as its object.
ATB as member of the Leibniz Association is committed to the „European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers".
