Infrastructure projectsFunds from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) enable the development and improvement of the institute's research infrastructure. Larger ATB research facilities funded by the ERDF include the pilot plant for the production of lactic acid for biopolymers (2006), the pilot plant for fiber processing (2007), the boundary layer wind tunnel (2012), and the lab for fresh produce (2013). The most recent funding measure is the expansion of research infrastructure in the field of Precision Agriculture at ATB (Project AgroBAT). At regional level, EU funds, supplemented by national funding, are provided for projects that will contribute to sustainable development. The decision on which projects are eligible is made by the German Länder. In the State of Brandenburg, ERDF funds are administered under the governance of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy (ERDF Management Authority). Since 1991, projects from the EU Structural Funds have been funded in the State of Brandenburg, in the funding period 2014-2020 in a total of 846 mio Euros. ![]() |
