Tube-type viscometer for agricultural semi liquid fluids and suspensions

Problem
Agricultural organic suspensions (liquid manure, liquid feed and bio sludge) have often a coarse settling structure, non Newtonian flow behaviour and inclination of sedimentation. Than it is not possible to use known rotational type viscometers.


Solution
In the ATB was developed a transportable computer-aided tube-type viscometer for measuring of flow behaviour and viscosity time functions.


Measuring works

  • Recrit: Laminar turbulent flow transmission

  • Inner tube diameter di = 27.06 mm, 34.09 mm, 42.37 mm
  • Measuring tube length Δl = 3.6 m
  • Volume flow Q = 0 to 10 m3/h
  • Flow velocity v = 0 to 4.8 m/s
  • Newtonian flow rate DN = 0 to 1400 1/s
  • Sample volume: circa 100 l
