Double shaft, rotary lobe pumps are often used for conveying slurries in liquid manure, biogas and sewage plants. Mechanical wear enlarges the gaps and the back flow in the pump. The effects on the pumping behaviour (sludge and pressure pump characteristics) are tested, modelled and calculated.
Solution
Different technical variants for weare reduction and compensation are tested systematically. These tests are used with industry at the pumping test stand in the ATB with different viscouse fluids and organic suspensions.
