For planning of agricultural pumping plants for liquid manure, bio-slurries and liquid feed it is necessary to calculate pressure losses on basic of measured rheological material properties. For it rheological measuring methods were developed, e. g. rotational-type viscometers with wide shear gap, tube-type viscometers with original pipe diameters and mixer with different agitators.
For pressure loss calculation at laminar and turbulent tube flow of high viscous organic fluids and coarse settling suspensions exists a dimensioning catalogue and the software PIPEWIN which were developed and offered of the ATB for planning of biogas and liquid manure plants.
