The CIGR ( International Commission of Agricultural Engineering) Section VI (Postharvest Technology and Process Engineering) deals with the engineering principles and technologies in postharvest and processing of agri-food products. It is devoted to follow the trends, promote the advancement and enhance the dissemination and transfer of technology in postharvest and processing at a global scale.

 

In order to fulfil better its missions, the CIGR Section VI is organizing the 5th International Technical Symposium on Food Processing, Monitoring Technology in Bioprocesses and Food Quality Management in Potsdam, Germany in 2009.

The event follows the successful 1^st International Symposium on Bioproducts Processing and Food Safety held in Beijing in October 2004, the 2^nd International Symposium on Future of Food Engineering in Warsaw in April 2006, the 3^rd International Symposium on Food and Agricultural Products: Processing and Innovations in Naples in September 2007, and the 4^th International Symposium on Food and Bioprocess Technology in Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil.

The symposium will feature a series of presentations and discussion in plenary, scientific and poster sessions, as well as informal gatherings to highlight most recent developments in food and bioprocess technology.
